Chapter V

“So, this is it, I should go now, I am glad you all come.” Said Nick.

“Don’t forget us.” Said Jack sadly.

“I won’t. I spent the best 13 years in my life with you guys, thank you!” Said Nick.

“What is the name of the restaurant you will work at, to know where to find you when we come to L.A.?” Asked Fred.

Although Fred didn’t want to visit Nick in L.A., he wanted to sound polite. Jack and Kevin would visit Nick any time if Nick invited them, but not Fred, he didn’t connect with a group that much, he always considered them as losers. The only reason why he joined the band was because of Kevin. Their parents told Fred he must join the band if Kevin does.

Kevin didn’t have many friends and wasn’t responsible, so when Kevin got a chance to be in a group, his parents couldn’t forbid him, although, they knew he is not responsible enough for a seven years old. So they order Fred to join the band too.

Fred never told Kevin about that, but he always resented him to that. Fred never had a chance to hang out with someone else and make friends with people who had similar interests.

“It’s “Sea Fantasy”. They there serve fish only.” Said Nick laughing.

After they said goodbye to Nick, they went to Jack’s garage to play.

“What will we play?” Asked Jack. “If we say anything other than “Run with me”, will you act like you have a mental disorder?” Said Fred meanly.

“Fred!” Said Kevin.

“What?” Asked Fred.

“It’s OK! We can play anything you want.” Said Jack trying not to show that he is hurt.

“I’m not sure I want to do this anymore.” Said Fred.

“Do what?” Asked Jack.

“This! To be in this band.” Said Fred.

“Why not?” Asked Kevin.

“I want to do something else. I don’t see myself as a future rocker or something.” Said Fred.

After Fred said it Jack and Kevin knew that this is the end of their group. They didn’t play anything that evening. They all were just sitting in the silence. They know that this wasn’t just the end of some boyband, this was the end of their friendship.

They would see each other for a while, but after a year they would stop. Nick would be in L.A., Fred would probably be at college, Kevin would probably start his own job, and Jack would find some new way to become popular.

But the saddest thing that night wasn’t that they would stopped to seeing each other, stopped to texting to each other… The saddest thing was that they knew that they would be happy without each other.

After a while Kevin and Fred went home.

It was too much for Jack to stop imagining all of them, so he decided to think about Fred and Kevin with him at the stage in front of thousands of people…
